Join us for a beautiful 11 mile(s) hike, and meet some fellow geeks!
This is a steep trail that rewards the patient with soaring views above Ross, Diablo, and Gorge lakes, and the impressive Ross Dam. There is no permit required at the trailhead, but parking could be limited due to the holiday weekend, and due to its distance from Seattle, carpooling is strongly encouraged.
There is one water source along this trail, but bringing extra water in excess of one liter is strongly recommended. This trail is appropriate for dogs, but consider predicted temperatures and trail steepness (~5,000 foot gain) as the date draws nearer.
For those looking to gather for lunch after, we’ll pick a restaurant in Marblemount.
• The event start time is the gathering time. Please meet at the Sourdough Mountain trail head at that time. We’ll leave promptly 15 minutes after the scheduled start time (to give some cushion for late arrivers while still respecting everyone’s time). We’ll hike the trail and get to know each other along the way.
• For those that want to grab a bite after our hike, we’ll make plans to grab a bite to eat if there’s interest.
• To coordinate rides, please use the Hiking with Geeks Seattle group here: https://geekadventures.org/groups/?hiking-with-geeks-seattle/.
