About the trail

Loop 360 access to Sculpture Falls is a 5.4 mi out and back hike in Austin, TX.  Loop 360 access to Sculpture Falls was pretty busy during our visit, and people were primarily hiking (although there were people walking, running, and biking on this trail too). Overall, the terrain was not really challenging, and effort-wise was pretty easy. It’s definitely a great hike for fun. There are opportunities to modify the route to create a longer or shorter distance depending on what you’re looking for.

How to locate Loop 360 access to Sculpture Falls within Barton Creek Greenbelt

After turning right into the business park off of Capital of Texas Highway (360), take an immediate left towards the trees. The parking lot for the trail is under tree cover (the non-paved part of the parking lot).

How to prepare to hike Loop 360 access to Sculpture Falls

Make sure to bring shoes that can be worn in dry, wet, and sandy environments. The trail is mostly mostly shaded, but sunscreen is always recommended (although shade may provide some cover). Bring plenty of water. It’s advisable to print a map of the trail before heading out.

Other pieces of advice

  • The first part of the trail has a water crossing which can require knee deep wading, depending on the creek level. Alternatively, there’s a foot bridge on a path to the left when passing underneath the highway bridges. Head up the hill through the rocks to the left. Once you get to the top of the hill, you’ll see the pedestrian bridge on the left.
  • Bring a bathing suit for this trail. There are three different popular swimming holes on the route. One even has a rope swing!
  • For hikers, there is a designated alternative path inside the first part of the trail leaving the parking lot. Take that trail to avoid mountain bikers.
